Success! Today the Protect the Protectors law, the Assaults on Emergency Workers (Offences) Act, receives Royal Assent. This victory must now be followed up with a Government publicity campaign and proper enforcement action to make sure that those who attack emergency workers are brought to justice.
"In calling out companies like Amazon, and the entire broken system that ruthlessly pursues profit while working people rely on benefits and food banks the Archbishop put himself squarely on the side of working people, and alongside the trade union movement - calling for equality, fairness, decency and to give people hope." - Tim Roache
Today at Trades Union Congress (TUC) we've been standing up for workers who aren't being given the decency and respect they deserve. Amazon are treating their workers like robots. Thanks to Emma Reynolds MP and Jack Dromey MP for supporting us in calling for Amazon to clean up their act and recognise the GMB. #TUC150

These stories from the frontline by GMB’s school staff members are truly disturbing. We're asking schools to sign up to GMB’s code of conduct to ensure attacks on members, when they happen, are dealt with properly.
Amazon Rugeley must be one of the most dangerous places to work in the UK. 100+ ambulance call-outs in just three years. Shocking. No-one should be treated like a robot at work. And no-one should have to worry about coming home in an ambulance. 🤖>>🚑 ✊Solidarity to GMB West Midlands protesting outside the company's massive Rugeley warehouse today.

As a trade union, if we negotiate a pay deal for our members we put that deal back to the members and they decide whether that's acceptable or not. It is with the people that approval of the final deal should rest.
As trade unionists, when we negotiate a pay deal with an employer, we go back to our members and ask them if they’re happy with it. On Brexit, the Government need to take a leaf out of our book and be led by the people ↓
